well, everyone but me, apparently. seriously, i am the epitome of a homebody. i have used a lawnmower one time in my entire life and i did such a horrible job, my mother never asked me to do it again. rick has ALWAYS done the yard work and i have never even considered helping out. the home is my territory, the yard is his.the thing is, he HATES it. particularly the weed-eating. i know he doesn't mind the actual mowing part, but the rest of the yard work/landscaping, he loathes. we're just very indoor people. i want my yard to look nice, but neither one of us wants to actually put the time into doing it.
finally, however, i got fed up with it. everyone else on our street has nice yards, even though we live out in the middle of nowhere and there are only six other houses on our street. and, rick has started working out of town two days a week, which means that on the weekends, he's ready to relax, not do yard work, and now that the girls are old enough to play outside on our steep lawn without falling down, i could actually help out in this area.
so, today, i asked rick to show me how to use the weed-eater. and, let me tell you, i was shocked to my core when i realized that weed-eaters use LINE, not BLADES. i know that there are some weed-eaters that use blades, but i was so confused and finally asked how on earth it cut weeds. he told me that the line cut weeds. are you kidding me?!
that's the biggest revelation of my week.
weed-eaters cut weeds with line. just line. hah!
